SmartGames is a local company that develops and sells Flash based games users can play on their PCs.

We did not provide any design services for this site, as the design has been in place for quite a few years.  Our services were contracted to convert the site from .asp to .php.

At the same time, we revamped the process for purchasing games from SmartGames.  Previously when someone would buy a game, someone at the company would burn the game to a disc, and ship it to the purchaser. We re-worked the site to function as a digital download service, utilizing PayPal’s IPN system.  When a user buys a game from SmartGames through PayPal, they receive a confirmation e-mail.  The e-mail contains a link to the download site, their username and password for the site, and their unlock code for the specific game they purchased.

The company can manage their customers, purchase prices, sales, and contact information from their admin panel provided by MJJ Designs.  This also allows them to see how many sales they’ve had, broken down by day and by product.  This helps in knowing which products sell best, and which to promote more.

This was our first venture into PayPal’s IPN, and we were pleased with the  results of the script we were able to put design.
